It’s another basketball doubleheader Friday night as Meadville travels to Norborne.  Mike Stone will have both the girls and boys varsity games.  The girls tip off at six, with the boys to follow.  We will have both games on 103.9 The Grenade.

(Kansas City, MO)  –  Chiefs coach Romeo Crennel says he is undecided if receiver Steve Breaston will be in uniform Sunday at Oakland.  KC is shorthanded with Dwayne Bowe injured.  Breaston has been inactive four of the last five games and has just seven catches for 74 yards this season.

(Kansas City, MO)  –  The Royals introduced new pitchers James Shields and Wade Davis on Wednesday.  They said they are excited to help create a winning culture in KC.  They were acquired Sunday from the Rays in a six-player swap that sent minor league prospect Wil Myers to Tampa.

(Undated)  –  Kansas and Kansas State are back on the hardwood Saturday, while Missouri will play on Monday.  The ninth-ranked Jayhawks host BelMont Saturday night, while the Wildcats travel that night to 14th-ranked Gonzaga.  The 11th-ranked Tigers host South Carolina State Monday night.

(Undated)  –  Kansas City native Tom Watson has been selected to be captain of the U.S. Ryder Cup team in 2014.  The five-time British Open champion will lead the Americans in Gleneagles, Scotland.  The 63-year-old Watson previously captained the Ryder Cup team that won in England in 1993.
