SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) — Cleanthony Early scored 17 points last night in No. 20 Wichita States’ 62-52 victory over Missouri State. Carl Hall added 15 points for the Shockers, who went on a 16-2 run midway through the second half to take the lead. Freshman Gavin Thurman had 21 points to lead Missouri State.

CHICAGO (AP) — Former Chicago Cubs star Sammy Sosa says he and ex-St. Louis Cardinals slugger Mark McGwire belong in the Hall of Fame. Sosa made the comments yesterday during an interview on the website Ustream.com. Sosa and McGwire both have been denied entry to the Hall amid suspicions they used performance-enhancing drugs.
