In High School Baseball Wednesday, Santa Fe came up short for the Class 1 State Championship.  Oran rallied for an 8-4 win over the Chiefs.  In Class 4 Baseball, the Boonville/Oak Grove game has been moved to Friday night at 7 p.m.  The Westminste/Logan-Rogersville game will be at 4 p.m. Friday.

Pinch-hitter Daniel Descalso hit a two-run single in the eighth inning to give the St. Louis Cardinals a 5-3 victory over the Kansas City Royals Wednesday night. Matt Holliday and Carlos Beltran added home runs for the Cardinals. Royals reliever Aaron Crow was rocked for four runs and five hits in less than an inning of work.  Cardinals pitching prospect Michael Wacha is set to make his major league debut tonight against the Royals.  KC will go with Jeremy Guthrie.
