>>A-Rod to Meet with MLB Officials

Embattled New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez is reportedly set to meet with Major League Baseball officials on Friday.  The “New York Daily News” reports A-Rod will interview with baseball officials ahead of testifying in his arbitration hearing, which resumes on Monday.  Rodriguez is appealing his 211-game suspension.

>>Beltran Would Consider Return To Royals

(Undated)  —  Free-agent outfielder Carlos Beltran says he would consider returning to Kansas City.  The 36-year-old noted how the Royals competed for a playoff berth this past season.  Beltran says seven to ten teams have expressed interest, but he still wants to play right field and not just be a DH.

>>Wainwright Voted Cy Young Runner-Up

(St. Louis, MO)  —  For the second time in his career, Cardinals ace Adam Wainwright has come in second place in the National League Cy Young voting.  Wainwright finished 121 points behind Dodgers lefty Clayton Kershaw.  The Cards hurler led NL pitchers in starts, innings pitched, wins, complete games and shutouts in 2013.  His career-high 219 strikeouts ranked third among NL pitchers.

>>Chiefs Continue Prep For Broncos

(Kansas City, MO)  —  The Chiefs practice again today ahead of Sunday night’s game at Denver.  Wide receiver Dwayne Bowe will play despite being arrested over the weekend for marijuana possession.  Peyton Manning will play for Denver despite missing practice yesterday for treatment on his high ankle sprain.

>>Tavon Austin Up For Rookie Of The Week

(St. Louis, MO)  —  Rams wide receiver Tavon Austin is a nominee for the NFL Rookie of the Week.  Austin scored three touchdowns for the Rams on Sunday, including a 98-yard punt return for a TD.  He also racked up 138 yards on two receptions in the Rams’ 38-8 win over the Indianapolis Colts.  The Rams will return to the field November 24th when they host the Chicago Bears.

>>KU, K-State Football In Action Saturday, Mizzou Has Bye

(Undated)  —  Kansas and Kansas State are back on the gridiron Saturday, while Missouri has a bye.  The Jayhawks host West Virginia at 11 a.m., while the Wildcats play host to TCU at 2:30 p.m.  The ninth-ranked Tigers return to action a week from Saturday with a road game against Ole Miss.

>>K-State Hoops Beat Oral Roberts

(Manhattan, KS)  —  Marcus Foster scored 25 points, including 4-of-5 from three, to lead Kansas State to a 71-63 win over Oral Roberts at Bramlage Coliseum.  D.J. Johnson added 12 points and seven rebounds as the Wildcats evened their record at 1-and-1.  K-State hosts Long Beach State on Sunday.

>>Mizzou Hoops Saturday, KU Tuesday

(Undated)  —  Missouri and Kansas have a few more days before their next game.  The 2-and-0 Tigers take on 2-and-1 Hawaii Saturday night at the Sprint Center.  The sixth-ranked Jayhawks are off until Tuesday when they host Iona.  KU is 2-and-0 with wins over Louisiana-Monroe and Duke.

Hardin-Central and Southwest Livingston County will try to keep their playoff hopes alive when they meet Friday night in Hardin.  The game will be broadcast on KRLI 103.9.  Chelsea Wade and Chris Clift will have the call at 6:45 p.m.  Kick off is slated for 7 p.m.
