High School Basketball

Norborne faced off against Malta Bend Wednesday and both Norborne squads came away with victories as the Lady Pirates beat the Lady Tigers 87-5 and the Tigers fell to the Pirates 77-24.




It was boy’s night at the Savannah invitational tournament Wednesday. The Chillicothe Hornets edged Platte County 65-64 while Bishop LeBlond got over on Staley 56-52. Host team Savannah couldn’t hold off the Huskers, as Lafayette County went on to a 61-38 victory.




Tonight Carrollton will host Tina-Avalon in a boys and girls doubleheader. Those games will be broadcast live on sister station 103.9 F.M. KRLI. Tip-off is at 6 p.m. with pre-game starting at 5:45. The Lady Trojans and both Dragons squads are looking for their first win this season.





KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — The Kansas City Chiefs have released linebacker Bryan Kehl. Coach Romeo Crennel announced the move yesterday, saying: “He was expendable, so I expended him.” Crennel wouldn’t say how he plans to fill the vacant roster spot.




ST. LOUIS (AP) — St. Louis Rams receiver Danny Amendola watched practice yesterday in a walking boot. Amendola was on the field for just seven snaps in last week’s win over the Arizona Cardinals. Center Scott Wells also didn’t practice yesterday.
