COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) – Missouri point guard Phil Pressey says he’s mulling whether to return for his senior season or leave for the NBA draft. Pressey has until the April 28th draft-entry deadline to make up his mind. Pressey and the Tigers were eliminated in the second round of the NCAA tournament by Colorado State.

PHOENIX (AP) — Ian Kennedy struck out eight in seven innings last night to lead the Arizona Diamondbacks past the St. Louis Cardinals 6-2 in their season opener. Gerardo Parra had four hits and Martin Prado doubled twice for the Diamondbacks. Matt Holliday had an RBI double for the Cardinals.

CHICAGO (AP) — Starter Chris Sale had seven strikeouts yesterday as the Chicago White Sox blanked the Kansas City Royals 1-0 in the season opener. Catcher Tyler Flowers hit a solo home run for the game’s only run. James Shields took the loss in his regular season debut for the Royals.

(Kansas City, MO) — The Chiefs have re-signed linebacker Edgar Jones and released backup linebacker Andy Studebaker. Studebaker was scheduled to earn just over two-million-dollars this year. He spent five seasons with Kansas City, but saw most of his playing time on special teams. Jones signed with the Chiefs in 2012 after five years with the Baltimore Ravens.
