Our thanks to Coach Moore from Leeton for sending in their score. Leeton went on the road yesterday and got a win 8 – 7 over LaMonte in the Mid-State Conference Tournament.

Comments from Coach Moore: In the Mid-State Conference tournament being held in La Monte this week, the Leeton Lady Bulldogs started off strong vs. the hosting Vikings leading by the top of the 4th 6-0. In the bottom of the inning, the Vikings came back scoring 4 and then answered Leeton’s 2 runs in the top of the 5th with their own 3 run surge in the bottom of that inning. However, the Lady Bulldogs showed their character, continued to battle and good pitching in both the 6th and the 7th held the La Monte team scoreless, preserving the victory for the Lady Bulldogs. The Leeton teams pitching by both Courtney Fleming who got the win and Megan Uptegrove who closed the game in the 7th proved to be the difference with 11 strike outs between the two and only 3 walks in the game. Timely hitting and aggressive baserunning created scoring opportunities which the Lady Bulldogs capitalized on in the middle innings.

Current Overall Record: 4-2

Next Game: 4/18/12 Leeton @ La Monte v. Kingsville (championship game) , game time is 5pm.
