“I am about five or six years away from retirement, so I think that the interim principalship is more of a thing I am looking at in my career for now,” said Snider. “I do have 33 years of principal and teaching experience in parochial schools – Lutheran Schools – so the interim principalship is more of what I am looking at right now.”

Snider took over the position officially on the first of July.

“The principal they had last year accepted a position at a different school,” Snider added. “The board felt that they were not quite ready to get a hold of somebody [permanent] for next year. They decided to go with a one-year interim principal and to start working on what they need for next year. If they are not ready [at that time], we have set it up to where they may want me to stay for an extra year.”

The school, which caters to roughly 160 students pre-kindergarten through eighth grade, has set a number of goals which are part of a five-year plan to improve the school. Snider stated that those plans will be the staple of his tenure as interim principal at the school.
