A jury trial has been scheduled in the case against a Camden resident. Dewayne Stephens, 42, appeared in court Wednesday, at which time his defense moved for a continuance and Ray County Judge David Miller set a September 9th trial date. Prior to the trial, Stephens is required to appear for a conference hearing on July 31.
He is facing two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm, one count of armed criminal action, one count of resisting or interfering with an arrest, two counts of operating a vehicle without a valid license, and six counts of possessing or disposing of wildlife illegally. Stephens was arrested by the Ray County Sheriff’s Office in November and he posted bond one month later.
