A vehicle stolen from the parking lot of Davis Transmission in Carrollton Friday afternoon has been involved in a shooting in Independence.  The shooting reportedly occurred near the intersection of Highway 24 and North Chrysler Street.  Law enforcement had to flatten the tires of the 2002 Chevy Silverado before they were able to apprehend the two men.

One of the suspects was shot by an Independence police officer at about 4 p.m. and taken to an area hospital. He is expected to live.  The second suspect was taken into custody.  No officers were injured.  The names of those involved have not been released at this time.

This is the second vehicle to be stolen in Carrollton this month.  Police said a 2001 black Chevy truck was taken from the parking lot of Mulch’s Country Mart on Jan. 17.  Chief Donnie King said this week that they were still searching for the vehicle.
