A two vehicle crash on westbound Highway 40 in Howard County Thursday night sent three Boonville women to the hospital.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Marilyn Carswell, 69, pulled over onto the shoulder about a mile west of County Road 465 due to severe weather. Shortly after that, Eugene Royer, 57, also of Booneville, lost control of his vehicle after it began to hydroplane. Royer’s vehicle then struck the rear of Carswell’s.

Royer was uninjured. Carswell suffered moderate injuries. Her passengers, Dimple Corbin, 95, and Teresa Palazzolo, 51, sustained minor injuries.

All three women were transported to University Hospital for treatment.
