Several rounds of thunderstorms have dumped between one and three inches of rain on the central and western portions of the state since Tuesday morning. An additional two inches are possible through the remainder of the morning which could produce flash flooding. River, creeks, and tributaries are also expected to rise. In fact, the Blackwater River near Valley City and Blue Lick is near flood stage. The South Grand River near Urich is experiencing minor flooding.

MoDOT has closed the left lane of southbound I-35 and the exit to Southwest Trafficway through noon because of water on the roadway. At this time, that is the only road affected by flooding. We will provide updates on road closings throughout the day.
