Sumner Woman Killed in Early Morning Crash
A Sumner resident was killed in a Sunday morning accident in Chariton County.
A listener first reported the incident to KMZU News. According to the highway patrol a vehicle driven by 34-year-old Jessica Diehl eastbound on Highway M, just east of Y ran off the north side of the roadway and overturned into the ditch just after 2 a.m.
Passenger 42-year-old Charles Lewis of Brunswick was seriously injured and transported to University Hospital for treatment. Another passenger 41-year-old Daniel Drew of Sedalia was unhurt. Jessica Diehl was pronounced dead at the scene.
