Sunday Traffic Stop Lands Two In Jail

The Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested two Independence residents Sunday afternoon in Lafayette County. According to the police report, Ann Smith, 39, and Timothy Hayes, 19, were taken into custody and charged with alleged felony possession of methamphetamine and felony possession of drug paraphernalia. Smith was also charged with alleged speeding while Hayes was additionally charged with alleged misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Both were taken to the Lafayette County Jail for a 24 hour hold.
