Suspicious package investigation turns up 22 pounds of high-grade marijuana in Boonville

BOONVILLE, Mo.- The Boonville Police Department and the MUSTANG Drug Task Force apprehended a Columbia, Mo., man and seized over 20 pounds of high-grade marijuana during an investigation of a suspicious package being shipped to a Boonville, Mo., address.

According to a release from the Boonville Police Department, on Tuesday, March 20, officers seized about 22 pounds of marijuana and an undisclosed amount of US currency during the investigation.

Kelvon W. Dow, 38, of Columbia, was arrested in the case and is currently being held in the Cooper County Jail on charges of delivery of a controlled substance except 35 grams or less of marijuana, distribution of a controlled substance in a protected area and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.

Formal charges are currently pending and more arrests are anticipated in the case.
