Synthetic Drugs Seized at Convenience Store

Authorities found approximately $13,000 worth of synthetic drugs and drug paraphernalia at a Warrensburg convenience store Tuesday afternoon.  The Warrensburg Police Department executed a search warrant at the Quick Stop on Maguire Street shortly after 1:00 p.m.  Store Manager Mizanul Islam was taken into custody and remains at the Johnson County Jail pending the filing of formal charges.

On April 9, 2013 at approximately 1:10pm Warrensburg Police executed a search warrant at the Quick Stop convenience store located at 312 N. Maguire Street in Warrensburg. Detectives conducting the search seized more than 500 packages of synthetic cannaboids and imitation controlled substances (commonly known as bath salts), including packages of WTF, Pump It, Mr. Happy, and Insane. Officers also seized drug paraphernalia including glass pipes, marijuana grinders, key chain pipes, and a digital scale. Retail value of the items seized was approximately $13,000.

Detectives arrested Mizanul Islam, the manager of the Quick Stop store,on felony charges of Possession of Imitation Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia with Intent to Deliver. Islam remains incarcerated in the Johnson County Jail pending the filing of charges.
