A winter weather advisory and slick road conditions have been prompting schools and area organizations to postpone or cancel.

KMZU News has received reports of closings for Monday, January 21, 2019 due to weather.
The City of Concordia is requesting help from the community in preparing for upcoming winter weather.
Widespread snowfall is expected across the KMZU listening area Friday afternoon and many area schools are taking precautions to ensure everyone gets home safe and sound. Sporting events and community organizations are also impacted.
A number of schools and community institutions are affected by widespread snowfall across the listening area Thursday.
National Weather Service Meteorologist Walt Otto told KMZU News that the snow should taper off around noon Thursday.
A few inches of snow will not be the only problem with Sunday’s storm, which is billed as the first major winter storm of the season. Winds are forecast to blow between 35-45 miles per hour and could create near white-out conditions. Motorists are encouraged to avoid travel on Sunday.
