A Hardin-Central student who admitted to his role in a 2011 assault will be sentenced at 3:30 p.m. Thursday. Jeffery Ellis, 18, was charged with two counts of forcible sodomy in February 2012. Ellis and three other students sexually assaulted a classmate in the high school’s locker room, according to police reports.
As part of a plea deal, Ellis admitted to attempting to cause physical injury to the victim by “striking” him with a water bottle. Prosecutors have recommend ten days shock incarceration for the single felony assault count.
A second person charged in the case, Randy Estenbaum, 18, is scheduled to return to court on May 17. He has maintained his innocence.
The other two students allegedly involved in the assault have not been charged.
