Teenager Hurt in Crash on Highway 24

A 17-year-old Moberly resident had to be extricated from his vehicle following an accident late Thursday night. Police said the crash occurred shortly before 11 p.m. as the teen was traveling west on Highway 24, near the Route DD intersection. The unidentified driver reportedly lost control, traveled off the roadway and struck a signal light base in an attempt to avoid two deer in the roadway. The teen was transported to Moberly Regional Medical Center with minor to moderate injuries.
