The River and Prairie Story Weavers is a story telling guild that is dedicated to enhancing the use of storytelling as an art form. This group also known as RAPS gets together for a storytelling retreat every year. Spokesperson Linda Coons says the Chicken Festival is always a great time.

A free public storytelling workshop will be held on Thursday, January 16th at the Family Budget Inn in Bethany in the meeting room from 7 to 8:30 p.m. for anyone wanting to improve their storytelling skills. Anyone interested in the art of storytelling is invited and encouraged to attend this free workshop being presented by the River and Prairie Story Weavers Guild.

A group of Bethany High School students will be serving refreshments on Saturday at the Bethany Community Center during intermission for the storytelling concert to raise funds for a trip that they will take later in the year.
