It was homecoming night at Chilhowee high as the Indians hosted the Norborne Pirates for 8-man football.

Both teams defenses had strong outings early in the game as Norborne pinned the Indians up against their own goal line with 3:25 left in the 1st. As Chilhowee tried to punt the ball on fourth down, the Pirates brought pressure off the ends blocking the kick and sending the ball out of the back of the end zone for a safety.

The Pirates got the ball back and just over a minute later Tyler McNelly found his brother Tristen for a 34 yard strike to put the Pirates up 8-0. However Chilhowee responded with just 19 seconds left in the quarter when Quarterback Colter Armstrong hit Joseph Boyle for a big 64 yard Touchdown pass. The 2 point conversion failed and the Indians trailed 8-6 at the end of 1.

5 minutes later Chilhowee struck again with an 8 yard QB option and Armstrong gave the Indians a 12-8 lead after the failed 2-point conversion.

Chilhowee struck again with 1:58 left in the half as Armstrong again took the option for a 16 yard rushing TD; Norborne 8 Chilhowee 12 at the half.

In the 3rd quarter Chilhowee poured it on with a 16 yard Quarterback option putting the Indians in a 10 point lead 18-8. Norborne would not go quietly though as they finally answered with a 1 yard rushing TD by QB McNelley to pull Norborne within 4 once again with 8:50 left in the game.

However, just 24 seconds later the Indians struck again as Armstrong got his third rushing TD of the night from the 1. The 2-point conversion was good as Dylan Conner ran it in from the 2. Chilhowee would score again with 3:14 left in regulation and that would do it for a 32-14 victory over the Norborne Pirates.

Norborne is now 2-4 with Northwest – Hughesville coming to town next Friday.

Chilhowee has won 3 of their last 4 and find themselves at 3-3 heading into the final two games of the regular season with Hardin-Central coming to town on the 12th.
