Thieves Hit Saline Co. Fireworks Stand

The Saline County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a report of theft from a fireworks stand south of Marshall.  The owner told investigators she noticed a mortar was missing when she opened the stand at 8:00 a.m. Thursday, July 4th.  She believed at least two people were involved in the crime.

A witness said he saw a black car parked at the MFA gas pumps, which is adjacent to the stand, as he was going to work that morning.  No additional information about the vehicle or suspects was obtained.

Authorities believe the theft occurred between midnight and 4 a.m. Thursday at the fireworks stand on South Highway 65.  The explosive is valued at $299.  Anyone with information is being asked to contact the sheriff’s department at (660) 886-5511.
