Three Arrested After Sheriff Finds Drugs

A warrant served on an Excelsior Springs residence resulted in three arrests on Thursday. The Ray County Sheriff’s Department, in conjunction with the Highway Patrol, searched the Horn Circle residence and located more than 44 pounds of marijuana, along with more than $5,000 in cash. Three suspects were taken into custody.

Christopher Steele, Freddie Hurt II, and James Lange have each been charged with possession with the intent to distribute a controlled substance. Their bond is set at $25,000 thousand. More charges are expected.

On 11-7-2013 the Ray County Sheriff’s Office in conjunction with Missouri State Highway Patrol conducted a search warrant at 31639 Horn Circle Excelsior Springs. Over (44) forty four pounds of marijuana were located and seized. Of this, (25) twenty five were half kilogram bricks of marijuana packaged as to have been smuggled into the country. Over $5000.00 in cash was also located and seized.

Three male subjects (Christopher Steele, Freddie Hurt II and James Lange) were arrested on scene and have been charged with Possession with the intent to distribute a controlled substance, B Felony, $25,000 no 10% allowed bond with bond conditions.

Ray County Sheriff Garry Bush and Ray County Prosecutor Danielle Rogers anticipate more charges to be filed as the follow up investigation is completed and all reports are finalized.

Ray County Sheriff’s Office wants to remind everyone that all parties are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
