PLATTE COUNTY, Mo. — A man from Kansas City was seriously injured in a crash Tuesday in Platte County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol investigated the crash on southbound Interstate 635 at Horizons Parkway at about 9:28 a.m. Monday.

The accident occurred as two vehicles, one driven by 25-year-old St. Joseph resident Jordan M Presto, and the other by John W. O’Reilly, 59, of Kansas City, were stopped in the roadway due to traffic congestion ahead of them.

A third vehicle, operated by Kendall L. Bailey, 27, of Kansas City, Kansas, failed to realize traffic was stopped and slammed into the rear of O’Reilly’s car. This caused O’Reilly to collide with Presto’s car.

O’Reilly suffered serious injuries in the rear-end accident. He was taken by ambulance to North Kansas City Hospital to receive care.
