Three injured in five vehicle pile-up on I-49 in Cass County

CASS COUNTY, Mo. — Five vehicles were involved and three people injured during a pile-up on southbound Interstate 49 in Cass County Wednesday afternoon.

The Missouri Highway Patrol sorted out the rear-end, chain-reaction crash just South of Raymore around 5:00 p.m. Wednesday.

According to a crash report, Saryn Ducharme, 21, of Butler, ran into the rear of a vehicle driven by  Teresa Williams, 56, of Independence, causing Williams’ vehicle and two others to rear end the vehicles ahead of them.

Williams suffered moderate injuries, Ducharme and a five-year-old girl in the vehicle received minor injuries.

Williams was transported to Belton Regional Medical Center, Johnson to Cass County Regional Medical Center and Ducharme as well as the child refused treatment at the scene.
