Three Injuries in Two Vehicle Crash

A two-vehicle crash in Cass County injured three people, one seriously Monday morning.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports Kyle Deweese, 20, of Belton, was driving northbound on Route Y, east of 205th Street, when he failed to negotiate a curve and crossed the centerline. Deweese struck a vehicle driven southbound by Justin Hampton, 66, of Peculiar.

Deweese and Hampton were uninjured. Deweese’s passengers, Skye Goode, 20, of Belton and Jacob Hanner, 19, of Raymore, sustained minor injuries. Good was transported to Research Hospital, Hanner sought his own treatment.

Shelia Hampton, 59, of Peculiar, was seriously injured and transported to Overland Park Regional Medical Center.

That crash occurred about 11:15 a.m.
