Three Involved in Crash on I-70

Update (9:30 a.m.) – Davis is now facing charges of driving while intoxicated – drugs, driving while suspended, and failure to maintain a single lane of travel, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

An accident Monday night in Jackson County injured an Odessa resident. According to the Highway Patrol, Cindy Davis’, 53, vehicle was disabled in the eastbound lanes of I-70, about two miles west of Oak Grove, due to a previous accident.¬† She was struck from behind by a vehicle being driven by Ryan Ray, 41, of Independence.¬† After the impact, the Davis vehicle traveled off the roadway. The Ray vehicle entered the median and struck the guard cables and continued into the westbound lanes of I-70, coming to rest on the side of the interstate. A third vehicle being driven by Heather West, 24, of Higginsville, was westbound and was struck by debris. Davis suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Centerpoint Hospital¬† The other two drivers were not hurt.
