Traffic stop yields 8 pounds of marijuana, thousands in cash

ANDREW COUNTY, Mo. —¬†A regular traffic stop in Andrew County¬†Sunday morning resulted in a slew of charges for a pair of non-Missouri residents.

The Highway Patrol says that around 7:00 a.m. Sunday a probable cause search of a vehicle on Interstate 29 at mile marker 63 resulted in the arrests of Michael L. Nelson, 22, of Omaha, Nebraska and Miya A. Jackson, 20, of Los Angeles, California. They are both charged with multiple felonies including two counts of delivery of a controlled substance and four counts of possession of a controlled substance.

The Highway Patrol says that eight pounds of marijuana, ecstasy pills and $5000.00 in cash were recovered in the car. They also face one count each of misdemeanor possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

They will both appear in an Andrew County court room Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. to be arraigned.
