No one was injured when a train derailed Thursday morning near the Old Sam’s Town Casino east of Interstate 435 in Kansas City.  The derailment happened shortly before 11 a.m.

According to Kansas City Fire Battalion Chief James Garrett, four railroad cars carrying grain went off the track at Highway 210 and Searcy Creek.  Multiple KMZU listeners said the incident occurred as the train was attempting to switch tracks.

The derailment is not impacting traffic, but has created problems for farmers wanting to unload their grain.
