Trash Truck Overturned in Lexington

Brown described how the accident happened.  “The truck was picking up trash in the alley behind Maid Rite restaurant and the laundry mat,” said Brown,” The driver got too close to the shoulder, the truck upended on its side and landed on top of the laundry mat.  No one was hurt and there are no fires.”

According to Brown, the laundry mat is closed for business at this time.  They expect to have the truck upright and removed from the scene around 1:00 this afternoon.

Chief Rector told KMZU News that the driver was taken to an area hospital as a precaution.

 

Original Story: A KMZU listener said a trash truck overturned Thursday morning in Lexington.  Police have confirmed that the accident occurred near the Main Street LaundryMat, which is located at 1409 Main Street, but they have declined to release further details at this time.

It’s not clear if the business will continue operations on Thursday.  They could not be reached for comment at this time.  Stay with kmzu.com and 100.7 FM for the latest on this developing story.
