Slick roadways have caused a number of accidents this morning, particularly in Lafayette Co.

In the 8 a.m. hour over 5 calls went out from 9-11 dispatch. The most pressing accident scenes included Route 224 at the wellington Bridge near Wellington, which was shut down and reported to be a sheet of ice by responding officers. Another accident was on 131, three miles south of Highway 24. The third accident reported was on Eastbound I-70 just east of Concordia.

The weather forecast calls for a mix of freezing rain and rain into Friday afternoon. Then falling temperatures in the evening will bring a rain and snow mix, with snow in the overnight hours. KMZU will keep you up to date.
