One of six people arrested during a drug raid in August 2012 has been apprehended again. Gary Alley, 50, of Warrensburg, was taken into custody by Highway Patrol troopers Thursday afternoon on a felony and three misdemeanor warrants from Johnson County.
Court records indicate Alley was wanted in connection to incidents in February, September and December 2012. He is being held in the Johnson County Jail on a combined bond of $6,500. Alley’s criminal record includes felony possession of marijuana and misdemeanor unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.
He also pleaded guilty to trespassing on railroad property and theft last summer. Alley’s sentence was suspended in that case and two warrants were issued.
According to online court records, Alley has not been charged in the August 31st raid at a house in Chilhowee. Robert Wharton and Kim Danielson were also arrested at the home on SW 271. Officers serving a search warrant at an apartment on Mulberry Street in Warrensburg at the same time apprehended Bryson Ramey, Matthew Brooks, and Susan Wharton. Officials reported finding methamphetamine, digital scales, packaging materials, and firearms at both of the residences. Authorities believe the group had ties to a methamphetamine distribution operation in Kansas City, Mo.
Brooks is the only person to have been charged in the narcotics investigation. He was charged in May 2013 with unlawful possession of a firearm and drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $4,500, cash or surety. Brooks appeared in court on Thursday, June 20th and his case was continued to July 17th at 1:30 p.m.
The Wharton couple, Danielson, and Ramey have not been charged in connection to the August 2012 drug bust.
