Two Accept Plea Deal in Richmond Murder Case

A Richmond murder case is inching closer to its conclusion.

Two people who had originally been accused of taking part in the May strangling death of Michelle Rheuport, 40, pleaded guilty to lesser charges on Monday. Lauren Gabbard, 26, and James Gant, 25, both admitted in Ray County Court to one count of burglary and one count of theft of a controlled substance.

A sentencing hearing for Gant is scheduled forOctober 31st. Gabbard will be sentenced on November 13th.

A third person orignally charged the death is still facing murder charges. Brandon Simpson, 26, will go before a Carroll County jury on October 28th.
