Two Additional People Charged in Independence Slaying

Two more people have been charged in connection to a triple slaying in Independence last week.  According to Jackson County court documents, Raul Soto, 22, of Kansas City, Ks., and Bobby Jo Phillips, 37, of Independence, were charged Thursday morning with nine felonies including three counts of murder.  Antonio Cervantes III, 32, and Kevin Finley, 33, are facing similar charges in the case.  Maria Hernandez, 48, her boyfriend, Tomas Dominguez (Madrigal), and Hernandez’s 20-year-old son, Antonio, were killed in the shooting last Friday.  A 12-year-old boy was shot and suffered critical injuries.  Cervantes and Finley will make their first court appearance on Monday.
