Two Charged in Independence Home Invasion

(Independence, MO) — Jackson County prosecutors have charged two men in connection to a triple murder in Independence last week and are considering seeking the death penalty. Antonio Cervantes III, 32, Kevin M. Finley, 33, each face three counts of first-degree murder and armed criminal action and authorities are searching for a third suspect in what is believed to have started as a home invasion robbery for money and drugs.  Maria Hernandez, 48, Antonio Hernandez, 20, and Tomas Madrigal were shot to death last Friday inside a home near Pope and Angus. A fourth victim, a 12-year-old boy, was seriously hurt.
