Murder and felony assault are among the charges filed Tuesday in the death of a Warrensburg resident.  Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker charged Anthony Williams, 21, and Alonzo Ruff, 20, with second-degree murder, three counts of first-degree assault, five counts of armed criminal action, and one count of robbery.

The two Kansas City men are accused of forcing their way into a home in the 4900 block of Brookside Boulevard on Thursday night and opening fire.  Aaron Markarian, 23, a music student at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, died at the scene.  Three others were wounded in the shooting.

During police questioning, Williams reportedly told detectives that he and Ruff were looking for a place to rob.  Williams claimed Ruff shot at the victims while they were sitting on a couch.

Bond for each has been set at $250,000 cash only.
