Two I-70 Lafayette County Wrecks

There were two moderate injury accidents in Lafayette County on I-70 Saturday. According to the Highway Patrol the first happened at around 1:30 p.m. when Maia Bridges, 22, of Lawrence, Kansas was heading east near Odessa when she slid into the path of Charles Lacen, 53, of Higginsville. The two collided then Bridges went off the road and overturned. Bridges’ passenger Tessa Bridges, 20, were both taken to St. Mary’s Hospital with moderate injuries.
The next happened near the Higginsville exit at about 1:55 p.m. when Vicky Barmlett, 58, of Kansas was heading east and lost control on the ice covered bridge and flipped. Barmlett had minor injuries. Her passenger Rosie Barmlett, 10, had moderate injuries. They both were taken to Centerpoint Medical Center.
