Two infants and an 8-year-old child injured following collision in Macon County

MACON COUNTY, Mo.-¬†Troop B of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the Macon County Sheriff’s Department, Macon County Fire and Rescue and Macon County Ambulance responded to a two-vehicle accident this morning in which multiple children were injured.

According to the filed accident report, at approximately 8:55 a.m., Harry Rhoades, 56, of Macon, was traveling westbound on US 63 at Excello, when he failed to yield and struck the driver’s side of a vehicle driven by Vickie Thompson, 50, of Callao, who was traveling southbound.

Three children in Thompson’s vehicle, including an 8-year-old child and two infants suffered minor injuries and were taken to Samaritan Hospital for further treatment. Thompson and another occupant in her vehicle, Crystal Toumbs, 30, also reported minor injuries.
