Two Injured and One Jailed in Crash

An accident in Cass County late Thursday night injured two people and ended in charges for one man. Reports from the Highway Patrol indicate Jerold Arment, 53, of Belton was heading north on his motorcycle at Cleveland Avenue and 187th Street when he allegedly failed to stop at a stop sign and struck the vehicle driven by Arron Clampitt, 24, of Creighton. Clampitt and his passenger Meaghan Davis, 22,  also of Belton, were both taken to Belton Regional Hospital with minor injuries. Arment was charged with felony driving while intoxicated, felony leaving the scene of a traffic crash and failure to stop at a stop sign. He was taken to the Cass County Jail pending a 24 hour investigation.
