A three vehicle crash injured two Smithton residents in Pettis Co. Saturday night. The highway patrol reports that 16-year-old Austin Voss of Tipton passed a vehicle on westbound highway 50 and immediately made a left turn onto Mo 135. 73-year-old Richard McKiddy of Chula was unable to stop in time and struck the rear of Voss’ vehicle sending both into a slide on 135 before colliding with a southbound vehicle driven by 57-year-old Christine Mathews of Smithton. All three vehicles came to rest either on or just off the roadway. Neither Voss nor McKiddy were injured. Mathews and passenger 64-year-old Ronald Mathews suffered moderate injuries; they were both transported to Bothwell Regional Medical Center for treatment.
