Two Teens Hurt in Crash

A Chilhowee teenager was among two people injured in a crash Tuesday morning in Henry County. According to the Highway Patrol, James Gaynor, 38, of Springfield, attempted to pass Micah Penfield, 16, of Chilhowee, as both were heading south on Highway 13. Penfield reportedly changed lanes and was struck from behind by Gaynor’s tractor-trailer. Penfield and his passenger, Hilda Tomerlin, 15, of Clinton, were transported to Golden Valley Memorial Hospital with moderate injuries. The accident occurred around 7:45 a.m., about seven miles south of Clinton.
