With limited hay available Horner says “if it will feed a cow in the winter time, it will be in demand.” Producers who have harvested excess hay, silage or baled other potential feed stock are encouraged to post the listing in the Depatment of Agriculture’s hay directory.
Trucks hauling forage matter can be seen throughout the state on a daily basis with shipments coming from several directions. According to Horner, there’s an additional concern regarding feedstock coming from southern regions..
