Vandals Cause Loss of Service

Power was down for about 12 hours after the line was cut.  Gaffke said their alarm went off around 3:00 a.m.  “We tried to isolate to see where it was, and found out that we had a fiber cut around Elmira, Missouri, and the cause of it was vandalism,” said Gaffke, “Obviously people think that fiber contains copper, which it absolutely does not.  And we were able to get full service restored back to the communities about 3:30 p.m.”  The company plans to press charges if the vandal is discovered.
