Crash Closes Highway 24

Update: The Highway Patrol reports Michele Carpenter, 34, of Sibley rear ended the towed Anhydrous tank being pulled by Daniel Summers, 73, of Buckner. Carpenter had minor injuries and she was taken to Centerpoint Medical Center in a private vehicle.

Update: The Missouri Highway patrol has confirmed a KMZU listener report that both lanes of Highway 24 were opened just before noon Saturday. Another KMZU listener who claimed to be a relative of one of the drivers involved said the injuries suffered are moderate and non-life threatening.

A KMZU listener reports an accident occurred Saturday morning about one mile west of Levasy on Highway 24 in Jackson County. According to the Highway Patrol, both the west and eastbound lanes of Highway 24 are shutdown as crews work with a dislodged Anhydrous tank that was being towed. One of the vehicles is described as a truck, the other is reportedly an RV. Dispatch received the call at approximately 10:05 a.m.
