Vehicle Hits Pedestrian on I-70

The eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 near Kauffman Stadium were closed for several hours on Friday night.  Authorities said a pedestrian was struck near the intersection of I-70 and Highway 40 at about 9 p.m.  The unidentified victim sustained serious injuries.  The driver allegedly didn’t stop after the crash.

It’s the second time this week that a pedestrian was hit on a busy state roadway.  Edward Moody, 34, of Lee’s Summit, was killed while trying to cross Highway 50.  The driver in that case also reportedly left the scene.
