Those elected to the two-year terms will play an important role in developing local programs for their area.  “There are different districts throughout the county and they will be the voice for their district,” said Davis,” They also educate other members of the group on their district, as well as programming that might be needed in their area.  This is vital to determining how we should allocate our services.”

Voters in Johnson County have two options available to them for casting their votes.  “You can come to the Extension office in Warrensburg during our normal business hours,” said Davis,” You can also vote online by visiting our website where you will find candidate and ballot information.”

The extension office is located at 135 West Market Street and they are open from Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  The online ballot information can be found by visiting http://extension.missouri.edu/johnson.

Those running for election include: Debbie Parsons and Kim Feldman (Northwest District); Sandra Streit, Kevin Buckstead, Edwina Moon, and Cindy Freeman (Southwest District); Lynda Mills (Southeast District); Leo Watson (Northeast District); Joy Lakey and Lindel Jones (City of Warrensburg District); and Debbie Riddle (South at Large District).
