Press Release from the City of Odessa

The City of Odessa Water Utility has begun a full rehabilitation project on the Odessa Water Tower. This rehabilitation project involves the full cleaning, repair, re-lining of the interior, and inspection and repainting of the water tower exterior. During this time the Odessa water tower will be drained, and the water service for the City of Odessa will be supplied with the assistance of several specialized pumps designed to maintain water pressure and no disruption of service is expected. Overall water quality for Odessa residents is not affected, and the water remains safe for drink, and for all other purposes.

While no disruption of services is expected, Odessa Water System Customers however can assist with this effort. We encourage customers to conserve water when possible to avoid overtaxing the water system during this time. This service to the water tower has been scheduled during a time when the least amount of water is traditionally used by customers, during the late winter and early spring. This service and rehabilitation of the Odessa Water Tower is expected to take several weeks to complete.

Thank you for your assistance in this matter.
