Superintendent Gerry Gabel reported that approximately $8,000 was spent in water last year to maintain the course during the drought. Repairing damages resulting from the dry season will continue to be the main focus this year with no major construction project on the agenda.

Wednesday’s event also included a presentation by Director of Parks Josh Norris.  Norris explained to those gathered that the city will, once again, be utilizing an offender crew consisting of inmates from the Chillicothe Correctional facility to help with various projects.

According to Norris, security is a top priority in the program. He and his staff will complete a one day class where they will be given the skills to handles situations they may encounter when working with the inmates.
