Wentworth President to Resign

The president of Wentworth Military Academy is set to resign this weekend.  William Sellers will step down after Saturday’s graduation. The ceremony is scheduled for 10:00 a.m.

He has served as president since 2008.  Under Sellers’ leadership, funding increased by 33 percent and enrollment more than doubled.  Commuter and online student numbers are now at record numbers.  The increased funding allowed the schoolto invest more than $1 million in facilities uprades.

The millitary high school and two-year college has been led by the same family for four generations.  Sellers’ great-great-great grandfather, Stephen G. Wentworth, founded the academy.
