The case of a Chillicothe man has been assigned to a Platte County judge.  Mark Woodworth was twice convicted in the shooting death of his neighbor Cathy Robertson in the 1990’s.  The Missouri Supreme Court vacated that conviction last month and sent the case back to circuit court.

Almost immediately, the attorney general stated his intention to retry Woodworth for a third time.  The case went to Judge Brent Elliott first who then recused himself.  Judge Owens Hull, Jr. will now preside over the proceedings.

His attorney, Robert Ramsey, has filed a motion for release of Woodworth from custody pending further proceedings.  A hearing in response to that motion will be heard on February 13th at 1:00 p.m. in a Clinton County court room.
